Minister Patuanelli: “Result achieved earlier than expected thanks to the reform of the Guarantee Fund. The measures will be extended beyond the end of the year.”

The Ministry of Economic Development and Mediocredito Centrale (MCC) announce that the amount of 100 billion euros of liquidity guaranteed by the State through the Guarantee Fundhas been reached, in favor of companies, craftsmen, self-employed and professionals. The requests received from 17 March to 5 November 2020, following the reform of the Guarantee Fund introduced with the “Cura Italia” and “Liquidità” decrees to face the Covidemergency, are a total of over 1.2 million.

“Today the goal of 100 billion of liquidity guaranteed by the State has been reached thanks to the reform of the Guarantee Fund for SMEs, managed by the Ministry of Economic Development. Despite being much criticized, the liquidity decree is giving great support to companies affected by the pandemic and, for the part concerning small and medium-sized enterprises, has reached the targets that we had set ourselves well before expectations. The reform of the Fund has made it a completely new, enhanced instrument; we have fully exploited the possibilities offered bythe new temporary framework”, declares Minister Stefano Patuanelli.

“This room for maneuver – he adds – will be used again, at least until June 2021. It is an instrument that, remember, offers 100% State guarantees on loans up to 30 thousand euros, and 90% up to 5 million euros. It is a must to thank the entire banking sector, starting with President Patuelli; after an initial period of adjustment, the sector has managed to give support to Italian companies in extremely difficult conditions”,concludes Minister Patuanelli”The figure of 100 billion in loans accepted by the Guarantee Fund for companies for the management of the health emergency is a remarkable result, which we have achieved thanks to a common effort and constant work, uninterrupted and determined by all. The data confirm that the Fund has worked very well in recent months, just think that in the most critical phases we have reached the peak of almost 30 thousand operations a day and that, even in the last two weeks, the average of the applications received is 5,500 “,,declares the CEO of MCC Bernardo Mattarella.
