More than 35 partners are entering the ecosystem that aims to accelerate the introduction of 5G and boost innovation in telecommunications

With the participation of IBM and more than 35 partners, including Cisco, Nokia and Samsung,IBM Cloud for Telecommunications is born, anopen and hybrid cloud architecture designed to help telecommunications companies face market challenges, as well as comply with strict industry regulations and accelerate business transformation.

Through the platform, telecom enterprises will be able to deliver a superior and more engaging digital experience to customers, improve agility, while modernizing applications and infrastructure to enable the power of 5G. IBM Cloud for Telecommunications is built on an open architecture, so that the partner ecosystem and broad solution offerings help enrich it and to enhance its distinctive elements. Based on Red Hat OpenShift,it integrates ibm’s best-in-class technologies and provides maximum scalability and flexibility, as well as partners’ distinctive expertise.

The partner roster spans numerous categories, including network equipment vendors, independent software vendors (ISVs), software-as-a-service vendors, and hardware partners. This will give customers a wide range of ways to harness the power of the IBM cloud and build and deploy new offerings. Our partners, in turn, are ready to cooperate.

The increasing uptake of 5G is driving telecom operators to transform their networks into agile platforms that can efficiently scale to support increasing volumes of data, voice and multimedia services. With IBM Cloud Satellite, currently available in beta, and Red Hat OpenShift, enterprises can deploy IBM Cloud services anywhere: in the cloud, on-premises, or at the edge, meeting industry-specific requirements and protecting data.

The platform also includes IBM Edge Application Manager and IBM Telco Network Cloud Manager to help reduce network infrastructure costs, increase automation, accelerate the deployment of next-generation services, and deliver new value for consumers and enterprises. The hybrid cloud offering as a whole will also integrate the software and technologies of ecosystem partners and enable mission-critical operations to be efficiently managed, from the heart of the network to the edge, so that maximum effectiveness and maximum value can be derived from collaboration with telco operators in driving customer innovation. Ibm’s partner ecosystem will provide enterprises with a wide range of ways to benefit from the platform and enable them to deliver next-generation 5G and Edge services, deploy and manage new cloud capabilities, and strengthen relationships with their customers, including through initiatives developed with the support of artificial intelligence.
